Earth Hour is a global event that encourages companies and households to turn off their lights for one hour (in Singapore) from 8:30pm – 9:30pm, taking a stand to fight global warming. Hence getting our friends and neighbours involved is a simple way to be a part of this international event by inviting them to East Coast Park and stargaze with us
Consequently, it is an excellent way to promote astronomy at East Coast Park, where they can join us for a night of stargazing. It will also benefit Astronomers in Singapore to help fight the light pollution problem here.
There will be exhibition posters to educate the public on environmental issues (e.g. global warming and its dangers posed), ways to conserve energy and of course, about astronomy.

Gerry And The Pacemakers
Walk on, through the wind
Walk on, through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone
